Raj Pillai is a graduate in Civil Engineering with an advanced degree from Doncaster college UK. With a career spanning over 30 years, with companies like L&T, NEO Muscat, Fletcher Challenge New Zealand, RMC Ready Mix India, Sobha Limited, and Starworth Infrastructure & Construction Ltd (Puravankara Group) Raj Pillai has been involved in large projects both in India and Abroad. Raj Pillai has pioneered the concept of Ready Mix Concrete in India way back in the early 90s, and now he is spearheading precast construction in residential projects in India and has a distinct feature of carrying out two large residential projects, namely Sobha Dream Acres and Provident Park Square using State of the Art precast facility. As a true Bangalorean, he has also been involved with the construction of Four Lane of Madiwala to Attibele way back in the 90s and now construction of 19 stations for Bangalore Metro and Airport Surveillance Radar System at Bangalore Airport.
Raj Pillai has been Chairman and Vice President of Indian Concrete Institute, Executive Committee Member of Karnataka Employers Association, Panel Member of National Building Code 2016 on precast section and Hand-Book for Government Engineers by Government of Karnataka. He is also past adjunct Professor at NMIT Bangalore for M-tech students.
Raj Pillai has delivered keynote sessions and has been Chair Person of major National and International conferences at various parts of the world, including Berlin, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Cape Town, Doha, and Dubai.
Raj Pillai was awarded the ‘Change Master’ award by Business Gyan and Tasmac University and Vishwakarma Award by CIDC, a body of planning commission, Government of India. Raj was also endowed with ‘Corona Warriors Award 2020’ at the Fourth State Level HR Kannada Conference Felicitation Ceremony for taking care of the labor force during the lockdown in an exceptional manner. He was one among the ‘SUPER CXOs 2020- India’s Top 100 Reality Influencers’ which was unveiled by Reality+, India’s leading real estate monthly magazine, in its ‘First set of coffee table book in March 2021. He was one of the few Indian speakers as a key lecturer at the ‘Shadow Summit 2020 organized by Shadow Ventures, hosted in New York, which was live across 12 cities in the world. Raj Pillai has also authored a book “Corporate Safari” on ethical corporate governance.
